All of us at Studio 108 feel blessed to have a relationship with the Land, Water, Plants and Animals of this unique corner of the world. We also recognize that Reconciliation requires more than just stating that we are grateful to be living on Indigenous Land. We would like to raise our hands in thanks for the support and healing of this land by those who have been stewards here for thousands of years.
As uninvited guests on the Traditional and Ancestral Territories of the Coast Salish peoples – Snaw Naw As, Snuneymuxw and Stz’uminus Nations, we want to express our gratitude for the continuous care of this land from time immemorial.
We also want to take the time to express our thanks and appreciation for the Land, Water, Plants and Animals who are the foundation of life in this region; especially with the unprecedented current colonization and globalization.
We acknowledge that our presence here on the Territory of the Snuneymuxw people, and their fellow Coast Salish relatives, contributes to the ongoing colonization and settlement of this region. As such, we actively take responsibility to participate in the healing of this Land, and the Beings that live here. This is part of our role in Reconciliation and we embrace it with humility and a desire to learn from those willing to guide us.
